Fantastic LMS with interactive coding

Well, currently there is many lifetime deals for LMS. Hard to select a good one !

CourseMaker is really different from others, that's the only one with an interactive coding feature. So, for course makers that want to mix videos sessions, markdown sessions and coding exercises, that is a no brainer. Currently, you can offer coding sessions on Python, Javascript, Go, C#...and...Machine Learning with all the dependencies like numpy, pandas, scikit-learn...AMAZING

But if you don't need coding exercises feature, it remains a great LMS with unlimited videos included with sections and lectures per course (number of courses depends on the plan chosen). Landing page for each course and membership feature.

UI is really standard, maybe it would be improved later :)

UX is fine !

Translation is not on the roadmap, it would be great to add it in the next months ;)

Simple tool so that you don't overwhelm yourself

Most LMS they have tons of features that makes it so complex. Coursemaker is just a simple tool that has the features required in an LMS. With your busy life, sometimes all you want is to put up a course very quickly and that's what CourseMaker can do for you.

It allows you to create multiple schools(you'd have to buy codes for individual schools) so it's good for agencies who creates online courses for their clients.

There is also a console with scripts already pre-loaded so your students can learn coding a lot simpler through Coursemaker as well.

This is a good solution for anyone who wants to just create online courses without having to mess around with so many stuff.

Would the fee apply if courses are for free?

@[TIOF] Contact: For a free course, the fee would not apply. However, I allow free courses on a case-by-case basis. If your student numbers are modest, then I'm OK to enable.

Let's say I manage courses for influencers, how would the costume domain work? Does each course gets it's own domain name e.g course.jayz.com | course.ronaldo.com | course.khabib.com ... etc?

@Ben: No, each school gets its own domain name. So you'd need to create a new school (i.e. new account) per influencer.

1. Do you have any plans of implementing quizzes into the software?

2. If CourseMaker ever shuts down, will you be able to release the software to be self-hosted on our own servers? This way if CourseMaker is no longer supported, we can still host our own site.

2) No, but the Gatsby theme is open source. We're also going to be looking at an export functionality. n.b. CourseMaker is not shutting down.

a. basic Web Development: HTML, CSS, and JS courses? Can the 'interactive coding' feature be used to help with these languages by providing a 'live preview' in any way, like the Markdown field does?

c. PHP - including PHP frameworks like Laravel, Codeigniter and Fat-Free?

1) a/b You won't get a live preview for HTML pages, but you'll get decent syntax highlighting and we do plan to integrate with systems like StackBlitz https://stackblitz.com/ to provide the kind of preview you want (works for Angular + Vue too)

1 c) We don't support PHP yet (we do JS, Python, Java, Go, C# and Rust), but it'll be here soon

3) No, but I can tell you that the primary focus is on enhancing the interactive coding capabilities. Features you'll see in the next month include running test suites against interactive code exercises. Then in Q4 multifile exercises (including datafiles). Plus more languages.

Can you explain how you take your $0.25-$1 fee per sale after the 50 sales? If I connect Paddle, then doesn't the full course payment amount go directly to my Paddle account? How do I pay you the per sale fee or how is it automatically taken out of my account?

@Chad: We use the revenue share capability of the paddle API (via the affiliate split funds functionality).

@Youhong: At the moment it's just 1 admin. Later we will allow more admins when you are on 2 or 3 codes.

@Youhong: Right now you'd have to share your access with that client. It's not really what we're optimising for.

However we will be adding multiple admins eventually.

@Youhong: Yes. I'm flexible. Basically, any reasonable amount for an online course.
